The Komi Center for Hydrometeorology and Environmental Monitoring (CHM) predicts that average monthly temperatures in May will be close to the norm (normal: +8 to +9°C in the southern regions, +10°C in the far south, +5 to +7°C in the central and northern regions, +2 to +4°C in the far north, and -1°C in the far northeast).
Monthly precipitation is predicted to be between 100-140% of the long-term average (normal: 36-57 mm).
Temperatures are highly likely to be generally warmer than the norm in the first half of the month, close to it in the second half, and below it on some days.
Weather conditions throughout the month will be influenced by alternating anticyclones and cyclones, resulting in periods of partly cloudy and dry weather alternating with days of precipitation.
